Bridge: Adagio in E
Frank Bridge: Adagio in E (Three Pieces for Organ, H.63), mm 42-54
This segment from the Bridge Adagio in E redistributes fingerings to improve legato. In mm. 52 and 53, the bottom note of the right-hand chord is initially played by the right hand. The left hand then reaches up to hold this bottom note so that the right hand can move smoothly to the next chord. I first saw this fingering used by John Scott. If you're unsure what to do here, watch John Scott's performance.
